Track & Field Compete at Region VI/KJCCC Championships
Arkansas City, KS. — FHNW Track & Field competed at the Region VI/KJCCC Outdoor Championships on Friday and Saturday, with two runners scoring team points.
Sprints & Field Events:
In the 100-meter prelims, Jaden De Souza, Jeremy Charles, and Brian Davis all competed, with De Souza qualifying for the finals with a time of 10.49 seconds. Charles just missed the finals, coming in 12th with a time of 10.89 seconds. In the finals, De Souza placed 2nd with a time of 10.27 seconds.
In the 200-meter prelims, Jaden De Souza and Raheem McCalman finished 10th and 11th, with times of 21.66 and 21.74 seconds. Brian Davis also competed, placing 32nd with a time of 24.03 seconds.
In the 400 meters, Raheem McCalman finished 24th with a time of 52.10 seconds.
Middle & Long Distance:
In the 400-meter hurdles, Noah Mitchell placed 8th, setting a new school record with a time of 54.74 seconds.
In the 800 meters, Ahmed Belouaer and Zakaria Anou both competed, finishing 18th and 19th, with times of 1:59.12 and 1:59.28.
In the 1500 meters, Zakaria Anou placed 11th, with a time of 4:11.85.
In the 3000-meter steeplechase, Ahmed Belouaer finished 10th, with a time of 10:54.65.
The Tigers will compete next weekend at the Shocker Open before preparing for the NJCAA Outdoor Championships on the 14th.
