Track & Field Break Records at Grizzly Gold Invite
El Dorado, KS. — Fort Hays Tech Northwest Track & Field competed at the Grizzly Gold Invite on Friday and Saturday.
Sprints & Field Events:
In the 100-meter dash, Jaden De Souza placed 1st, breaking the school record with a time of 10.09 seconds. Jaden's time is currently tied for the fastest in the nation. Brian Davis also competed, finishing 44th, with a time of 11.36 seconds.
In the 200-meter dash, Jaden De Souza placed 2nd, breaking his previous school record with a time of 20.65 seconds. Noah Mitchel finished 31st, with a time of 22.30 seconds, and Brian Davis finished 74th, with a time of 24.14 seconds.
In the 400-meter dash, Noah Mitchell placed 20th, finishing with a time of 51.11 seconds.
Middle & Long Distance:
In the 800-meter run, Ahmed Belouaer finished 33rd, with a time of 1:58.51.
In the 1500-meter run, Zakaria Anou placed 19th, with a time of 4:10.06. Salisu Habibu also competed, finishing 41st, with a time of 4:23.79.
The Tigers will return to competition on Saturday at the Coyote Classic in Salina, Kansas.
