FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a multinational, non-profit organization that aspires to transform culture, making science, math, engineering and technology as cool for kids as sports are today. We participate in local, state and national competitions every year that give our students an unmatched pre-engineering experience. They will learn electrical, mechanical and computer engineering, as well as team work and problem solving. Other aspects of the program include experience in web and robotic programming along with web design, marketing and advertising. In addition, students advance their knowledge in math, science and technology through robotics. The robotics program is an after school activity and is not founded through general school funds; thus all funding for the robotics program has to be generated by the team. We are in need of funds for materials and supplies for the program, registration fees, travel expenses, and t-shirts. The approximate annual budget for a competitive team to compete in two, possibly three competitions is about $30,000 per year. In order to make this a successful program for the students and community we hope you will support our efforts. We have different levels of sponsorship that will afford yourself and your company exposure on local, state and national levels via advertisement through our t-shirts, banner, posters, buttons and our website. Your company's name can be on our robot during our competitions, based upon your level of donation. This is a great opportunity to get involved and gain publicity! JOIN A WINNING TEAM! The students have worked very hard and the teamwork has paid off. During our first year of competition we received the ROOKIE ALL-STAR AWARD. In our second year we received a special JUDGES AWARD and the XEROX CREATIVITY AWARD as well as placing Second in two Regional Events! Last year we were First Place Winners in the PALMETTO REGIONAL.
